SECRC Scholarship Application Guidelines

  1. Parent/legal guardian must have been a member of the UBC for two (2) consecutive years immediately prior to dependant applying for a scholarship.
  2. Parent/legal guardian must have been a member in Good Standing for one (1) year prior to dependant applying for a scholarship, and must remain in Good Standing if their dependant is selected to receive a scholarship.
  3. Scholarship applicants must have maintained a minimum high school academic score of:
    • 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale or an 80 numeric average in College Preparatory core curriculum courses.
    • 3.2 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale or an 85 numeric average in the Career/ Technical core curriculum courses.
  4. Scholarship applicant must submit, along with his/her scholarship application, an official high school academic transcript.
  5. Scholarship applicant must submit a written essay (300-500 words) on why he/she should be considered for our scholarship.
  6. Scholarship recipients must attend an accredited College, University, or Technical School, and provide a copy of acceptance letter with scholarship application.
  7. Scholarship recipients must submit an academic report at the end of each scholastic year. (i.e. courses attempted and grades for those courses to determine scholarship eligibility for the following year.)
  8. Scholarship recipients must maintain at least a B average to receive subsequent scholarship checks.
  9. Dependents of Council employees are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.
