The EAWCP relies on volunteers to help us to raise public awareness and support our work by providing feedback about our programs and services, and by helping to make our events successful. As an EAWCP volunteer, you are a part of a team of staff, constituents, and professionals that strive to educate, connect, and empower people in western and central Pennsylvania.
We know that volunteers are helping us to achieve our mission of ensuring that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences.

Thank you for sharing your skills and talents with us and for being a part of the EAWCP team!
The EAWCP encourages people of all ages to volunteer. With the exception of Camp Frog, where volunteers have to be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate, the EAWCP has no age minimum as long as the volunteer can fulfill the duties of the position, which is at the discretion of the volunteer’s supervisor. Unless prior specific and agreed upon arrangements have been approved by the President and CEO, youth 18 years old and younger are required to have a parent or guardian accompany them while they volunteer.
Background checks are conducted on all volunteers who will be dealing directly with children before beginning their volunteer position. Performing a background check first and foremost protects the children we serve. If a background check is required for a volunteer position, it will be indicated on the job description. The EAWCP is happy to pay for the required background check documentations, if one is required.
Volunteers are entitled to a copy of the background check to know what information is in the report. If an adverse decision is made by the EAWCP management based on the information in the background check, the EAWCP is responsible to supply the candidate with an explanation.
The EAWCP supports volunteers with disabilities and their pursuit of volunteer work. The EAWCP will make reasonable accommodations for the volunteer to perform in their volunteer position.
Equal opportunity is the EAWCP’s policy. No volunteer will be discriminated against because of race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, gender identification, military status, or physical or mental disability. This policy applies to all volunteer practices including advertising, recruitment, screening selection for training, termination, and recognition.
