...When you are struggling to pay your bills

The EAWCP does not have a specific program to help with bill payment. However, we generally point people to the resources below. Please contact us for help accessing resources in your area.

General resources:

County Children and Youth Directory

PA Department of Public Welfare lists all resources in its database by topic, county, region, etc. to better search in rural communities.

The Dolan Fund

Social worker or medical professional must refer. Covers PA, NJ, DE. Helps with bills and unexpected expenses.

Family Resource Guide

Lists a wide variety of resources available to parents in Allegheny County including early intervention, support, school information, transition, medical care, and more.

Modest Needs

Provides four basic types of grants to help encourage self-sufficiency of low-income individuals. Can help with rent, bills, auto repair, medical emergency, and other unexpected expenses.

Need Help Paying Bills — All County Programs

Lists government and non-government programs to help with various bills and financial assistance listed by program and then by county

Parker’s Purpose

Ohio residents first. Up to $1000 in two year span.

The Prayer Child Foundation

Grant request must align with the organization’s mission and must help the child live a normal childhood.

Provides up to $1,000 to an individual with autism and their family during a time of crisis or unplanned hardship.

Medical Treatments or Therapies

Aubrey Rose Foundation

Provides funding for medical expenses not covered by insurance.

CeCe Cares

Covers sleep monitors, travel expenses, durable medical goods, communication devices (iPads), supplemental items like helmets, cooling vests, etc.

The Challenged America Foundation

Provides up to $500 worth of equipment. Purchase item directly, money does not go to family. Online application only.

Different Needz Foundation

Covers medical equipment, therapy devices, adaptive toys, and/or services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Dravet Syndrome Foundation

Financially supports families struggling with hardships due to the medical costs involved with a child living with Dravet.

First Hand Foundation

Covers: treatment, equipment, assistive technology, displacement, vehicle modifications

Friends of Man

Based in Colorado. Provides assistance for mobility equipment, medical equipment and procedures, hearing aids, short term care, basic needs like clothing, and more. Must have an organization apply for you.

Gia Nicole Angel Foundation

Assistance through purchase of a specific item(s).

Gracie’s Hope

Covers Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, other therapies, equipment, and respite care.

Josh Provides

Covers prescription medication, medical services, service dogs, monitors, transportation, and more.

Kya’s Krusade

Provides assistance for adaptive equipment and various therapies.

Maggie Welby Foundation

Helps with bills, athletic opportunities, medical needs, and an opportunity that the child may not otherwise have.

Team Tyler Epilepsy Foundation

Located in Georgia. Helps to cover the cost of some medical bills. Should be contacted via phone or through their website.

Wheel to Walk Foundation

Provides funding for medical equipment not covered by insurance like braces, therapy tricycles, shower chairs, etc.
