Hello and thank you for visiting the online home of the Florida Carpenters Regional Council (FLCRC). We are a proud affiliate of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC) — one of the oldest and largest labor unions in North America. We represent thousands of carpenters, millwrights and pile drivers working for union contractors throughout Florida.

The FLCRC is laser-focused on two critical paths: (1) Provide 24/7 support and skilled manpower to our partner contractors; and (2) Leave no stone unturned to recruit and retain the best and brightest future members of our Council.

Our partner contractors benefit from the technical expertise of our craftpersons, and also from the positive attitude, punctuality, attention to safety and the unmatched work ethic that union carpenters, millwrights, and pile drivers are known for. All of these traits combine to provide our partners with high productivity, which allows them to compete for work knowing that they have the manpower.

Our staff and member leaders are aggressively recruiting men and women to join our roster of superior craftspersons. We are one team with a clear objective: Increase and retain membership. Achieving this goal will have a positive effect on virtually every aspect of every brother and sister’s membership. More members mean a greater ability to answer labor demands from our employers, which means more work for everyone. That translates into higher contributions to pension and other vital member service funds, and that means a better quality of life for our members and their families.

“The FLCRC is laser-focused on two critical paths: (1) Provide 24/7 support and skilled manpower to our partner contractors; and (2) Leave no stone unturned to recruit and retain the best and brightest future members of our Council.”

We are getting great results from both paths: We continue to see an increase work hours and in membership. We’ve increased our staff to meet member and partner employer needs. We also maintain close communications with the UBC Southern District office to implement and leverage new programs released by the UBC, most recently the Member Engagement Program, which promises to spark new and effective recruitment and retention strategies.

The future of the FLCRC is certainly bright. We are determined to give our membership every opportunity to advance their career and secure a great quality of life for themselves and their families. We believe that as we support our membership, our employers will directly benefit from the unmatched labor pool that only we provide.

Fraternally,
James Banks, EST
